The NOMSIZ Festival of independent, experimental, and social cinema invites filmmakers to participate in an Open Call. The festival welcomes all practices related to unique filmmaking approaches and self-expression forms, such as poetic films, diary films, letter films, video art, video essays, and works with archival materials.
Films must have been made in 2022, 2023, or 2024 in Central Asian countries or by individuals from there and should not exceed 30 minutes.
To apply, send an email to nomsizfest@gmail.com with “open-call” and your film's title as the subject. In the email, include a link to the film, a synopsis, timeline, production year, and country, and attach a portfolio if available.
After the application deadline, the organizers will contact participants with the results. If any filmmaker cannot attend the screenings in person, NOMSIZ will arrange for a Zoom call. The festival will take place from April 20th to 28th at the 139 Documentary Center in Tashkent. The program includes screenings, discussions, lectures, and meetings with filmmakers and female artists from the UK, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Follow the NOMSIZ Festival on Instagram and Telegram.
