Tai Kwun Cultural Center Announces Open Call for Contemporary Artists and Researchers

Applications for participation in the residence at the Hong Kong Cultural Center will be accepted until the 18th of September

Tai Kwun

The Hong Kong Cultural Center Tai Kwun has announced an open call for a residency for artists and researchers of contemporary art. Applications can be submitted up until the 18th of September 2020.

Motivation letters will be accepted from artists, curators, architects, researchers, writers, and educators. A preference will be given to participants who through their work  demonstrate an interest in Hong Kong and its local culture and, ideally, also show an interest in the activities of the center itself. The residence will last from three to six months—the candidate will choose suitable dates from the period of April 2021 until March 2022 and will have a workshop at their disposal for the entire period. A scholarship is not provided and the applicant would be responsible for travel and other related expenses.

The Tai Kwun Center supports artists and other professionals in the art community, fosters international cooperation, and promotes the prosperity of Hong Kong's cultural environment.

Applications can be sent to opencall@taikwun.hk.
