Summer Residency at Kim? Contemporary Art Centre

Kim? Contemporary Art Centre announces its first summer residency program in Riga, Latvia. The program will host four international art professionals in two six-week periods (June 1st – July 13th and July 17th – August 31st, 2025), with two residents participating simultaneously.

The residency is designed to support ongoing artistic conversations and collaborations between the Latvian and international art communities. By offering a space for research, conversations, and shared experimentation, it hopes to facilitate connections that may evolve into significant, fully realised projects. Residents will receive studio space at the historic Hanzas 22 building and shared accommodation in central Riga.

Requirements:

Over 25 years old with 5+ years professional experience
Based in Europe (for environmental reasons)
Collaboration with a Latvian partner (required)

Provided Facilities:
Private studio (40 sqm)
Shared two-bedroom apartment
Bicycle
Internet access

Travel expenses are not covered. The venue is not currently accessible for individuals with disabilities.

Results announcement: April 21st, 2025

Applicants must submit the application form, which should include a portfolio containing at least 10 images and descriptions of works/projects (format depending on artistic practice), along with a signed letter from a Latvian partner confirming their interest and commitment to collaborate during the residency.
