François Schneider Foundation’s Open Call on “Art and Water”

The call for existing works is dedicated to the intersection between art and water

François Schneider Foundation

The François Schneider Foundation has announced an open call for visual arts entries on the theme of art and water. The call is meant to support creative artists by adding their works to the center's permanent collection. Open to all major visual artists of all nationalities, submissions from the following mediums are accepted: painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video, or any other form of plastic or visual art. In general, submitted installations and sculptures should either be from an existing work or a proposed project, which should include a production budget. For other art forms, artists must apply with an existing work. Films, live productions, and performances are not accepted.

The four winning artists will be awarded annually for their project or work; winners will be divided between two works or projects from the fields of sculpture or installation and two existing works from other visual arts (painting, drawing, photography, video). These “Contemporary Talent” prize-winners will receive €15,000. The prize also includes a collective exhibition at the Foundation’s Contemporary Art Centre, a bilingual publication presenting the prize-winners’ work, the inclusion of the work in the Foundation’s collection, and a video portrait of each of the laureates.

The call for applications is open until November 20th, 2020. For more information, visit the foundation’s website
