Experimenter Announces Generator Open Call

Applications are due by September 30th and are open to artists of all ages and citizenships

Generator is a co-operative art production fund created in collaboration with artists and friends of the Experimenter gallery in Kolkata. This fund will be awarding multiple production bursaries to help artists realize their projects. It is open to all visual artists regardless of their medium of practice and applications all welcome from all, with no limitations concerning age, region or provenance of the applicant. The call description states that artists who have projects that need either a stimulus of funds for completion, need seed funding, or basic financial support that will help them to continue their practice should apply. 

The grant application lists a wide variety of fields within visual art including drawing, painting and graphic arts, sculptures and installation art, conceptual art, performance art, artistic research, photography, film, video, sound, digital and new media art, self-published artist books, and art in public spaces. Conceptual, formal, and contextual characteristics of the work or project proposed are taken into account by a jury of three artists who will award the bursary. Grant amounts awarded will be between USD 500 and USD 2000. An artist can only receive one bursary a year. Applications will be reviewed and replied to within ninety days from the date of application received. Successful applications will be disbursed the agreed funds within thirty days.
