Antonio Gramsci by Gabriele Cancedda.
Gramscimania

The event, organized by the London School of Economics (LSE) and the University of Ghent, will bring together researchers working with the legacy of theorist Antonio Gramsci. At the conference they will discuss the relevance of the philosopher's works in the realities of West Asia and North Africa. Applications are accepted until September 13th.

In reflecting on the present moment in the context of history, Antonio Gramsci has shown himself to be a forward-thinking theorist with ideas about resistance, revolution, capitalism, political economy, memory, temporality, and internationalism. A global crisis is unfolding in the world with different uprisings and revolutions, which brings an urgent need to imagine a different future, including the region of West Asia and North Africa. Papers on capitalism & crisis, hegemony & resistance, and subalternity & intersectionality are accepted. At the end of the event, materials will be published in a special issue.

Abstracts of no more than 300 words are accepted at N.Almanasfi@lse.ac.uk. Please include the subject line: Abstract Submission—Gramsci Conference.
