Art Jameel is seeking an Assistant Curator. The role involves supporting Jameel Art Centre’s exhibitions, commissions, and publications as part of a global curatorial team. Responsibilities include research, planning, managing stakeholder relationships, assisting with publication workflows, writing, editing, and various administrative tasks.
The Assistant Curator will work closely with the Art Jameel Learning team and handle tasks such as researching artists and works of art, coordinating public programs, drafting exhibition texts, maintaining accurate artwork checklists and image files, and liaising with artists and galleries. They will also support administrative duties like general departmental administration, shipping logistics, and assisting with logistical needs for visiting artists.
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field, with a Master’s Degree being optional but preferred. They should also have demonstrated research and writing skills, be fluent in English (with a preference for candidates fluent in Arabic), and possess strong communication and organization skills.
