The first Selvedge World Textile and Fabrics Fair will take place from the 3rd to the 5th of September 2020. The online event will present the traditions of textile production from more than sixty countries around the globe.
Visitors will be able to purchase handcrafted textiles and fabrics, participate in seminars and workshops, and join discussions about handicraft production in an era of sustainable development. Among the invited guests of the event are indigo dyers from Japan, basket makers from Swaziland, carpet weavers from Uzbekistan, and many others. Tickets for the virtual fair are purchasable through the Selvedge official website.
The main organizer of the event is Selvedge magazine. The publication promotes textile and craft production and collaborates with designers from all over the world.
