PDSFF24 is a short film festival that will take place from March 7th to 10th, 2024 in Athens. The festival aims to create a trans-local cinematographic space of creation and resistance by inviting filmmakers, documentarists, visual content creators, students, and emerging artists to submit their shorts. The festival will feature a curated catalog of approximately 35 short films competing for four prizes, including the Best Film Award, Audience Award, Best Greek Production, and Curators’ Award. In addition, the festival will include concerts, workshops, masterclasses, and discussions, and will assemble a four-day celebration of diversity, communities, and resistance. Special screenings of the award-winning films will take place in 10 European countries throughout the year.
The festival is particularly interested in the topics of intersectionality, social justice, and privilege, and the stories of characters, communities, and individuals that remain unseen due to their identities and life experiences.
There is no age limit for participants in the competition, and no limitation or restriction on the origin of the video or its author. The videos should be up to 30 minutes long. The completion date of the film should be after July 1, 2022. Submission fees are 5 euros, and films with at least one of the main contributors being African are eligible for a fee waiver and can compete for the Best African Production award.
