The French Institute of Jerusalem has partnered with Palestinian and French organizations to design a residency program that will organize 57 residencies (24 in Palestine and 33 in France).
This second call for applications is now open for three- to six-month residencies in France to be carried out at French cultural institutions, taking place between January and December 2025. Those who applied or took part in the first call can also reapply and take part in this second call.
This program is aimed at Palestinian artists of all disciplines (visual arts, performing arts, music, writing, and cinema) residing in Jerusalem or the West Bank, or originally from Gaza and living abroad, to enable them to maintain a creative activity. It seeks to promote the diversity of Palestinian artists’ profiles, whether emerging or established, with an emphasis on the diversity of social and geographical contexts. Exhibition curators are also welcome to apply.
The program includes the following:
— Travel expenses for the laureate (round-trip ticket to France and internal transportation in Palestine and France, as well as travel insurance and visa fees)
— A living allowance of 1,000 EUR per month
— Accommodation and workspace provided by the partner during the residency period
— Accessing accompanying expenses and/or a production grant totaling 2,500 EUR, managed by the hosting institution, and its use decided by mutual agreement with the artist according to their project needs.
Depending on the partner’s capacity, the artist may be accompanied by a partner and children. The program does not cover any expenses related to their mobility and stay. You can find more information on the website of The French Institute.
