RogCreathon Open Call: What Can We Learn from Our Ancestors?

Center Rog, Europe's largest production hub for applied arts, design, crafts, and architecture, is proud to announce the RogCreathon 2024. This intensive 48-hour design sprint, taking place from November 18th through 20th, 2024 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, invites young designers and makers to explore the theme "What Can We Learn from Our Ancestors?"

The event features five unique challenges mentored by renowned international designers:

— Upcycling industrial waste by product designer Anna GUDMUNDSDOTTIR (Iceland, Sweden)
— Creating welcoming public structures by architect Asel YESZHANOVA (Kazakhstan)
— Zero-waste fashion design by fashion designer Lauren FAJARDO (Cuba)
— Blending AI with traditional crafts for future homes by product designers Jovana Zhang (Serbia, China) and Lei ZHANG (China)
— Innovating wood design by industrial designer Rok KUHAR (Slovenia)

Eligibility:

— Open to creatives aged 18 to 30
— Application deadline: September 30, 2024

The selected participants will enjoy a range of benefits, including complimentary participation in the RogCreathon from November 18th to 20th, 2024, and a free ticket to the RogForum on November 21st and 22nd, 2024. For those traveling from outside Ljubljana, free accommodation will be provided from November 17th to 23rd, 2024. Additionally, participants will have the exciting opportunity to win valuable prizes, such as a yearly membership package or a two-week residency at Center Rog.
