Dima Rebus’ Exhibition Opens At Tatarstan Capital

The exposition will be held from July 4th to September 12th

Dima Rebus. Morning Skewing of the Facts, 2020
Artwin Gallery

Dima Rebus is known for his project Underground Aquarellka, which draws attention to the biology of human behavior and the evolution of his everyday life. This is both an author's genre and an interactive universe of the same name. The artist's works are large-format watercolor works created using his own chemical mixtures. Norms of Insolation is the first personal exhibition of the author, a native of Naberezhnye Chelny, planned in the Republic of Tatarstan. The exposition will take place in Kazan at the Smena Center for Contemporary Culture from July 4th to September 12th.

The artist will present works from several series created over the past seven years. The main object of the exhibition is the series Insolation about the search for verified “parameters” of life. Carefully constructed compositions refer to the artist's fascination with the culture of computer gaming and the early experience of digital interaction. The universe created by Rebus is filled with central metaphysical images: exoplanets, parrots, a metal sun, and black holes. The exposition was prepared in collaboration with Artwin Gallery.

Norms of Insolation is a multi-component project about art “on this and on the other side of the window,” going beyond the walls of the art institution. In addition to the exposition, a public art project is planned inside the exhibition space—the light installations on the building of the Smena Center for Contemporary Culture.
