Warehouse421 Abu Dhabi is announcing its second iteration of the Homebound Residency. The Digital Communities program will run from October 2021 to April 2022. Applications are accepted in English and Arabic until August 7th.

The Digital Communities online-program will help cultural practitioners from the region create new works and explore digital forms of interaction with the community. “How may we create and hold collective and communal spaces through screens, temporal disparities, and concerns of global heating and climate crises? Do remote and online workflows have the capacity to support existing practices?”. The organizers invite you to reflect on these and other questions in the online residency program. Participants will be provided with curatorial assistance and $ 5,000 for the purchase of equipment or materials for the projects’ implementation.

The Warehouse421 program is open to practitioners from a variety of disciplines: art, curation, design, technology, theater, performance, literature, food, and music. Applications are accepted from cultural figures from West and North Africa and regions of South Asia.
