Open Call: Taoyuan International Art Award

The 2025 Taoyuan International Art Award is aimed at cultivating talent in contemporary art and expanding global perspectives. The mission of the award is to create a strong foundation for research and creation in contemporary art while encouraging the diversified development of art practices. Artists from different disciplines, both individuals and groups, are eligible to participate in the open call. There are no restrictions on nationality. Works submitted should be new pieces presented to the public for the first time and should not have previously entered government-organized competitions in Taiwan.

The exhibition build-up will take place from March 3rd to March 20th, 2025, and the exhibition itself will be held from March 25th to April 30th, 2025, at the Taoyuan Arts Center.

The open call offers several rewards, including the Grand Prize, Honorable Mentions, and the Sojourn Award. The Grand Prize winner will receive NT$600,000 (around US$19,100), a trophy, an award certificate, and five albums. Three Honorable Mentions will be awarded NT$200,000 (around US$6,390), a trophy, an award certificate, and five albums. The Sojourn Award, available to a Taiwanese participant, offers a subsidy of NT$350,000 (around US$11,100) for a tour abroad, along with a trophy, an award certificate, and three albums.

Interested artists can submit their entries online through the Taoyuan International Art Award website. The entry should include information such as photographs or schematics of the work, an artist statement, work dimensions, exhibit space planning, equipment requirements, technical requirements, and the timetable for build-up and breakdown.
