On September 25th and 26th, the E-Atlas platform will host Sacred Geography: Multi-Disciplinary Approaches to Time and Space”, a multidisciplinary virtual conference that will bring together the fields of religious studies, cultural anthropology, archaeology, and history. The focus will be on sacred landscapes, religious sites, and spatial dimensions of religion, with the overall conference dedicated to “themes, regions, religious traditions, methodologies, and technologies that advance the theoretical and analytical paradigms of space and place.”
Researchers from a broad range of countries including Kazakhstan, Russia, China, USA, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia, and Singapore will be in attendance, showcasing new methodologies and technologies within digital humanities such as photogrammetry, electronic atlases, cartography, and geographic information systems in the field of pedagogy, tourism, and cultural heritage preservation. The working languages of the conference will be Kazakh, Russian, and English.
