Institute for Ideas and Imagination Fellowship Program

The Columbia’s Institute for Ideas and Imagination is pleased to announce the open call for its 2025-26 Fellowship Program. The program offers a stipend of $75,000 for a full academic year at Reid Hall in Paris, France. Fellows will have access to their own office, administrative and research support, and Columbia's extensive library resources, including facilities across Europe.

The fellowship is open to two categories of applicants:

Creative Artists: This includes visual artists, filmmakers, writers, composers, and poets, among others, from anywhere in the world, except US residents. Applicants must demonstrate a significant body of public work. There are no higher education requirements for this category.

Columbia University Faculty and Recent PhDs: Eligible applicants include tenured and tenure-track faculty and recent PhDs from Columbia University, Barnard College, and Teachers’ College. Faculty should inform their department chairs or Deans of their intention to apply.

Applications must be submitted in English and include personal information, a CV, a project description (1500 words), a sample of work, and three letters of recommendation.
