The Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation (Poland) and partners have announced an Open Call for the Secondary Archive project, an online platform dedicated to showcasing the work of Central and Eastern European women artists.
The Open Call aims to gather personal artistic statements from emerging female-identifying artists across Central and Eastern Europe. The platform serves as an international source of information about female art from this region. It does so by collecting personal (artistic) statements from three generations of women born post-WWII and till late ‘90s/early 2000’s. So far, the Secondary Archive has had 4 launches and has gathered statements from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Belarus, Ukraine, Albania, Kosovo, and Serbia.
Eligibility Criteria:
— Female-identifying artists in all visual arts disciplines from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia or Albania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia.
— Born after December 31st, 1987
Selected participants will receive:
— Opportunity to be featured in an international archive of women artists
— Collaboration with project curators to develop artist statements
Chance to win a cash grant of 500 euros (one artist per country for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia; and one artist total for Visegrád Four and previous Balkan partners (Albania, Kosovo and Serbia).
Interested artists should submit a brief biography, motivation letter, portfolio, and optional CV in English and their mother tongue.
