The online program “Ecology After Nature: Industries, Communities, and Environmental Memory” showcases works by artists dedicated to the instrumentalization of nature, mining the ways of interacting with it and its relationship with human-created environments. New films will appear on the platform every two weeks. Screenings will run until November 8th.
The six-part program, compiled by Lucas Brasiskis, includes twenty two films and videos. The selected artists advocate for a non-essentialist view of the diverse forms that nature takes in the modern world, and explore the problems associated with extractive industries, abandoned military equipment, and pollution caused by cryptocurrency mining. Each film is accompanied by a critical text.
