The Asia Society Museum has announced the opening of the second part of its triennial, entitled We Do Not Dream Alone, with a reference to Yoko Ono's book Grapefruit. The exhibition will be open from March 26th to June 27th in New York.
The second section will bring together a wide variety of artists whose work influences trends in contemporary art. The exposition includes more than thirty works in the genres of painting, sculpture, installation, video, and performance, many of which are presented for the first time.
“We are grateful to our participating artists, many of whom had to reconceive their works due to changes wrought by COVID-19. We Do Not Dream Alone offers much-needed solace through the healing potential of art to inspire and empower”, commented Michelle Yun Mapplethorpe, cocurator of the triennial, on the opening.
Asia Society Museum hosts traditional and contemporary exhibitions of Asian and Asian-American art, offers new approaches to famous works, and introduces little-known artists.
