The Massee Arts Grant is an opportunity for artists to explore and learn about the world of fungi, promote fungal science to a wide audience, and support public engagement with it.

To be eligible for the grant, artists must meet the following criteria:
— Artists from any discipline and location can apply
— Projects must be new and not already ongoing or completed
— Each applicant can only apply for one award within a 24-month period

Selected artists will receive funding of up to £5,000 to cover expenses related to projects that encourage representatives of all social groups to engage with and learn about fungi.

To apply for the grant, applicants need to complete the online form on the website of the British Mycological Society between January 1st and February 28th. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of experts from the art and mycology sectors, and their decision will be final. The decision regarding applications will be made in April.

Recipients of the grant are required to acknowledge the financial contribution made by the British Mycological Society in their project outputs. They must also produce a short video or a portion of their performance/event/artwork along with a verbal summary report. Additionally, they need to submit a report of expenses with receipts and give permission for the details of the award, outputs, and video reports to be shared on the BMS's digital channels and in the BMS members' newsletter.
