Torres Vedras, Portugal. Deadline: June 2nd

Ria Keburia Foundation (Georgia) in collaboration with AiR 351 (Torres Vedras, Portugal) are announcing an open call for the Artists-in-Residence program in Portugal in July 2024. The program has been fostering the visual arts since 2017 by creating a platform for international and national artists, curators, and interlocutors to share ideas, research, and dialogue, cultivating a sense of community.

The residency is open to emerging or established artists based in Georgia, specializing in painting, ceramics, textiles, photography, or small-scale sculpture. The selected artist will have an opportunity to take part in a fully funded 1-month residency at AiR 351, from July 6th through August 6th, 2024.

The Artist-in-Residence program offers a variety of benefits to participants:

– private room with toilet at AiR 351/CAC, Torres Vedras, Portugal
– studio space (30 sq. meters)
– economy flight round trip from Tbilisi to Lisbon
– train round trip from Lisbon to Torres Vedras
– monthly allowance: 500 euros

The program promotes immersion in the local artistic community, provides technical and curatorial assistance, and offers the possibility of working within AiR 351's extensive partner network. It also includes regular studio visits, organization of open studios, public presentations, and a yearly exhibition.

Applicants should have at least a moderate level of spoken English and are required to submit a project proposal, outlining their specific research interest and intention for the residency. Find more information on the website of AiR 351
