The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) invites young artists and writers below the age of 35 from the Arab region, whether residing in it or the diaspora, to apply for the Production Awards Program. Launched in 2004, this program offers production grants in the disciplines of Literature, Visual Arts, Music and Sound Art, Performing Arts, and Cinema.
This round offers 25 grants, 5 in each discipline, and it covers the following types of productions:
Performing Arts: Development and production of theater, dance, multidisciplinary projects, and other performing artworks. Grants awarded up to €8,500.
Visual Arts: Development and production of artworks, exhibitions, installations, art books, and comics, including sculpture, engraving, photography, light art, video art, virtual reality, immersive and interactive art, and/or multidisciplinary art. Grants awarded up to €8,500.
Literature: Creation and publication of novels, memoirs, biographies, graphic novels, short stories, poetry collections, and theater texts. Grants awarded up to €6,500.
Music & Sound Art: Creation and recording of music albums, experimental music/sound projects, sound installations, live concerts, and music-related visuals. Grants awarded up to €8,500.
Cinema: Production and post-production of short, medium-length, and feature fictional, documentary, animated, and experimental films. Grants awarded up to €13,000.
Application requirements:
— Applicants must be below 35 years old and from the Arab region.
— Applications must be submitted in English or Arabic.
— Applicants can apply for only one project in the same category.
— Projects that have been previously produced or presented are not eligible.
— The results will be announced in the first half of March 2025.
