The event will commence with a lecture by Czech architect, urban planner, writer, and visual artist Anna Beata Háblová, who will explore the concept of "non-places" within cities. These are marginal spaces that are often neglected, transitory, and overlooked, contrasting with well-defined public spaces. Anna Beata Háblová will discuss whether these non-places are an integral part of urban development or a result of planning failures.
Following the lecture, Tbilisi-based urban planner, researcher, and educator Elena Darjania will lead a roundtable discussion alongside architect David Giorgadze. The discussion will delve into Tbilisi's urban landscape, examining the balance between non-places and public spaces, and exploring recent public space renovations in the city.
