Caucasus All Frequency 2026

Open call for a composers’ residency in Tusheti exploring traditional music and contemporary sonic practices.

Aqtushetii announces the open call for Caucasus All Frequency 2026, a composers’ residency and workshop to be held in Tasheti, Georgia, from August 24 to September 2, 2026.

Bringing together musicians, composers, sound designers, and sonic practitioners, the program focuses on the encounter between traditional music practices and contemporary approaches to composition, music technology, and collective experimentation. The residency proposes Tusheti not simply as a backdrop, but as an active acoustic and cultural terrain—one in which listening, transmission, and transformation unfold through shared practice.

Led by musicians and composers Ben Wheeler and Giorgi Koberidze, the program will include masterclasses, discussions, and collaborative sessions that engage with expanded notions of folk music, global music theory, and emerging technological frameworks. Participants will work across formats and disciplines, developing new methodologies for composition grounded in dialogue and situated knowledge.
