Found Sound Nation is accepting applications for Sound Bridge, a residency program that brings together 10 musicians from Armenia, Georgia, and Türkiye to collaborate on creating original music and develop music-driven strategies to connect people across the region. The residency will take place in Georgia from June 3-24th, 2024, with a two and a half-week stay in the mountains of Svaneti, followed by a showcase in Tbilisi.
The open call for Sound Bridge is open to musicians between the ages of 20 and 40 who are citizens and residents of Armenia, Georgia, or Türkiye. Applicants should have a high level of musical excellence and innovation, showcasing proficiency in performance, composition, improvisation, production, and/or technology. Social engagement through music, such as community service or cross-border collaboration, is also valued. Applicants must be willing to collaborate across cultural and musical boundaries while respecting each tradition's essence.
Selected fellows will receive a $1,500 USD honorarium and may be eligible for a small seed grant for post-program collaborative work. The deadline for applications is February 19th, 2024, at 2:59 pm EST (11:59 pm in Armenia & Georgia, 10:59 pm in Türkiye). Applicants will be notified by April 2024.
